SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

THE WELCOME PARTY

OXBOW BEER GARDEN
420 MAIN ST. OXFORD ME.
TIME TBD (~6-9)

The celebrating starts here-- just a stone's throw from our hotels! Come settle in, grab a drink, and start the weekend with us. It's a chance to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and celebrate before the festivities begin.

We'll be outdoors around fire pits and in a private pavilion with heaters, but we still recommend dressing comfortably for an October evening. There's no dress code—jeans, flannels, sweaters, jackets, and boots are all welcome.

We'll have light bites available, with beverages and additional food available for purchase.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS

GETTING THERE

For most, the easiest way to get to our wedding destination will be driving.

Norway is approximately:

- 1 hour driving from Portland
- 2.5 hours driving from Boston/Gloucester
- 3.75 hours driving from Providence

You can also check for flights arriving into the Augusta or Portland airports, both of which are about a 1-hour drive from Norway.

WHERE TO STAY

THE HAMPTON INN - OXFORD

The Hampton Inn in Oxford Maine offers comfortable, affordable rooms without the requirement of a multi-night stay. The hotel is located across the street from the Oxford Casino and Hotel. We will be running a shuttle service from the Hampton Inn directly to the wedding venue with return service back to the hotel at the end of the night.

THE OXFORD CASINO & HOTEL

The Oxford Casino and Hotel also offers affordable and comfortable accommodations without the requirement of a multi-night stay. The Casino is just a quick walk across the street from the Hampton Inn Oxford which is where shuttle service to the wedding will pick-up and drop off, making both of these locations an easy and accessible option for booking your stay.

For larger groups or those looking to spend a few extra days in the Lake Region, there are plenty of cozy and affordable short-term rentals available on Airbnb and VRBO.

We recommend looking for accommodations in Norway, Oxford, and the surrounding areas for the closest proximity to wedding transportation.

GETTING TO & FROM THE VENUE

SHUTTLE INFORMATION

We're getting married on a mountain, so getting up there requires a little finesse. Due to Granite Ridge's location and limited parking, guests are not able to drive themselves to the venue (including by taxi/uber).

To keep things simple, we will be providing transportation for ALL guests via shuttles to and from the venue.

The shuttle will pick up and drop off at two locations: the Hampton Inn in Oxford ME, and the 19 Danforth Street municipal lot in Norway, ME.

PICK-UP (times subject to change):
3:15pm - Hampton Inn, Oxford ME
3:30pm - 19 Danforth Street lot, Norway ME

GOING HOME (times subject to change):
Buses will depart Granite Ridge in intervals beginning at ~9:00pm, with additional shuttles departing every hour until 12:15am. Shuttles will return guests to the initial pick-up locations listed above.

Shuttles are not handicapped-accessible, so if you do not think you can comfortably get on/off the buses or require special accommodations, please let Jeremiah or Christopher know and we will be sure you are well taken care of.

If you are staying in a rental property, please plan to designate a driver to get you home safely from the shuttle drop-off locations as Ubers are not typically available in the area. Private transportation can be arranged from a drop-off location if you'd like - just let Jeremiah or Christopher know if you're interested in this option.

DRESS CODE

CREATIVE FORMAL ATTIRE

We’re getting married in the Maine woods, but there's no call for flannel. Think formal, elevated, and extra enough to upstage the bride - because there isn't one!

For Those in Gowns:
Long dresses in bold or moody colors (black, deep jewel tones, metallics) and rich textures are the vibe. Think velvet, satin, embroidery, beading, capes, fur coats, statement accessories, crowns, layered costume jewelry, dramatic make-up, etc. If you're questioning whether it's too much, it's probably just right.

Simple Option: A long dark gown that leans formal (...and maybe some piled-on jewelry)

For Those in Suits:
Full suits in classic black, or dark tones will be great. Tuxedos are not required (but are certainly welcome). Velvet suit coats, ascots, three piece suits, lapel pins or brooches will fit right in. Think luxe rather than rustic.

Simple Option: Your darkest suit, a white shirt, and a simple tie

We really hope you have fun with it—the night will be chic, whimsical, and a little indulgent—so feel free to go big! We've linked a pinterest board here with some inspiration in case that is helpful.

A Note on the Venue:
The terrain around the barn is laid with gravel, so we do suggest a sturdier heel or wedge for footwear, as well as something to keep you warm in the hopes that we have mild weather and are able to hold our cocktail reception outside.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE IS THE WEDDING BEING HELD?

The wedding ceremony, reception, and after party will all be held at Granite Ridge Estate in Norway Maine.

127 Richards Wy, Norway, ME 04268

HOW DO WE GET TO THE VENUE?

To arrive at the venue, you'll need to take a shuttle.

For more information on our shuttle service click below:

WILL THE WEDDING BE OUTDOORS?

As long as there is appropriate weather (*fingers crossed*), the ceremony and cocktail hour will be hosted outdoors. The reception will take place indoors in a climate-controlled, modern barn.

If we're met with cold or windy weather, the cocktail reception will be held in the barn, but we recommend coming with a coat, shawl, or wrap just in case. We will have coat racks available.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

"Creative Black Tie"

For more detail click below to visit our Dress Code page:

WILL THERE BE PARKING AT THE SHUTTLE PICKUP LOCATIONS?

Yes- there will be parking at both shuttle pick-up locations and you can leave your cars there all night without worry.

CAN WE BRING OUR CHILDREN?

The wedding & reception will be an adults-only celebration.

If taking travel time away from the kid(s) feels like too much and you'd like to make a weekend trip out of things, we encourage you to find a comfy rental on AirBNB or VRBO and bring the whole family -- invite along a friend or relative to keep watch during the ceremony & reception, or let us know if you'd like some local childcare provided through our wedding coordinator.

We'd be happy to see the kiddos at the welcome party on Friday night, but hope you will set aside Saturday as a night off for yourselves so you can let your hair down and come celebrate with us.

SHOULD WE BRING CASH FOR THE BAR?

We are happy to be offering an open bar for the evening for all of our guests. I am sure however, that our hardworking bartending staff would be grateful for any and all gratuity, and as there is no ATM on site, we hope you will plan accordingly and bring along some cash if you'd like to show your appreciation to the staff.

ARE THERE HOTEL BLOCKS OR RECOMMENDED PLACES TO STAY NEARBY?

We are encouraging guests to book accommodations at the Hampton Inn Oxford, and The Oxford Casino & Hotel as they are directly accessible to the wedding shuttle. These hotels do not offer dedicated room blocks, but room rates are quite affordable especially when booking in advance.

If you are looking for slightly higher-end accommodations, the Bethel Inn nearby (linked below) is another option, but is situated on the other side of Granite Ridge and therefore is not well located for our shuttle service. If you do book accommodations here, please let Jeremiah or Christopher know.

WHAT TIME WILL THE WEDDING END? IS THERE AN AFTERPARTY?

The wedding will end at approximately 10:30pm and we will have shuttle service departing at (approximately) 9:30pm and 10:40pm.

But the party doesn't stop there- we will be holding an afterparty at the Granite Ridge Estate Lodge just a stones throw of a walk from the reception barn to keep the evening going. A late night shuttle will transport afterparty guests home at 12:00am.

ARE THERE TAXIS OR UBERS AVAILABLE IN THE AREA?

To quote our venue, "We do not have Uber in Norway, and there is only one cab in town so it would not be wise to rely on those sources of transportation."

It’s literally a one horse town, folks.

WHY MAINE?

We love it up here! We've been sneaking up north for long weekends since we first started dating. It's a special area and we're excited to make more memories there with all of our favorite people.
